About ACT

What is ACT?
  • The Accessibility Collaboration Team (ACT) is a multidisciplinary campus partnership.
  • ACT is comprised of staff members between Student Disability Services (SDS), Career Planning and Development and Counseling and Psychological Services.
  • ACT is dedicated to reducing barriers that impede students’ academic and professional success.
Who is ACT for?
  • The Accessibility Collaboration Team serves degree-seeking students who identify as neurodiverse or disabled
  • Students must be registered or eligible to register with Student Disability Services (SDS)
  • Students who need assistance with academics, communication and accessing resources
How do we help?
  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) provide Individualized supports that may include recommendations for support services, advocacy, case management, coordination of care, career coaching, academic coaching, skill-building, treatment planning and more.
  • Student Disability Services (SDS) provides Academic Coaching, accountability support and assistance in navigating academics, social, and career goals through programs like LIFT.
  • Career Planning and Development (HireACT) support ACT students with accessing internship and living-wage employment opportunities and provides diversity education and training to partner employers.
  • HireACT provides specialized career advising, career assessment, resume and cover letter development, mock interviews, accessible career fairs, and support with post-graduation transition planning.
  • Educate and encourage students to communicate and advocate for themselves in a college setting
  • Engage with campus partners to provide systematic supports (i.e., institutional and community advocacy, education, and partnerships)

  • Student Disability Services (SDS) ACT committee supports students that qualify for accommodations due to a disability who also want to enhance supports beyond academic accommodations. In addition to the Academic Coaching available through SDS, students have access to accountability support and assistance in navigating academics, social, and career goals through programs like LIFT.

  • Career Planning and Development’s (CPD) supports ACT students with accessing internship and living-wage employment opportunities and provides diversity education and training to partner employers.

    HireACT Committee provides specialized career advising, career assessment, resume and cover letter development, mock interviews, accessible career fairs, and support with post-graduation transition planning. 

    This Committee's goal is to educate and encourage students to communicate and advocate for themselves in a college setting while engaging with campus partners to provide systematic support.

If you are interested in initiating a referral for ACT services, please contact Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) and request an ACT Consultation with a Clinical Case Manager.
